Texas Academy of Medical Technology (Med Tech) opened
in August 2003. The school focuses on careers in the
medical and medical technology fields. Seniors gain hands-on
clinical
experience in area hospitals and doctors' offices. Our

Enrollment
Guidelines
- You
must live in Hidalgo, Cameron or Willacy counties.
- You
must successfully complete 8th grade.
- Enrollment closes when school reaches capacity.
- You
must provide required documentation.
- Parents
and students
must attend a Spring
Advisement Session.
- Dates: Feb. 11, March 11, May 13, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the gym. April 24 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. All sessions meet in the gym.
- Students
must attend a Summer
New Scholars' Academy.
- Dates: June 7 - 10, June 14 - 17, July 12 - 15, 2010 from 9:30 AM to 3:30 AM. Please choose a date and sign up during the Spring Advisement Session.
- Med Tech accepts
students into the 9th grade and the Fall semester of the 10th
grade.
- STISD enrolls
students on a first-come and first-serve basis.
- STISD complies
with all non-discrimination provisions of federal and state
laws. Students are admitted without regards to race, religion,
color, sex, national origin, disability or limited English
proficiency.
