UTPA Scholarships

·  Most are available to all majors with a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5 and full-time enrollment status

·  Available to Undergraduate and Graduate students

·  Most require US citizenship or legal permanent resident status. However, International students are still encouraged to apply.

·  Awards range from $500 to $3,200 annually

·  Recipients are selected on a competitive basis.

·  Scholarships are not automatically renewable; students must re-apply each year

UT Austin Scholarships

·  Complete your online application for admission early; remember your applytexas.org application ID number and password.

·  Use your application ID number to access the "Apply for Scholarships" option at applytexas.org (the Texas Common Application for Freshman Scholarships).

·  Some scholarships may require special essays or letters of recommendation; allow yourself enough time to complete these requirements before the deadline.

·  After completing the short answer questions and any special requirements, select "submit" by December 1. Once you submit your application, the scholarship committee can view your application.

·  The Maryknoll Student Essay Contest is open to high school students of any religious background. SAE Engineering Scholarship

·  Applications accepted September 1, 2005 through December 1, 2005 of the student's senior year of high school.

·  Intend to enroll in an engineering program (refer to scholarship descriptors) accredited by ABET

·  Be a citizen of the United States (not permanent resident) at the date of application

·  Be a high school senior at the time of application (Sept. 1 - Dec. 1)

·  Meet minimum requirements with regard to grade point average, SAT I and/or ACT scores as outlined in the individual requirements of each scholarship.

AXA Scholarship

·  Must be a United States citizen or legal resident

·  Be current high senior who plans to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four –year  college or university in the United States by fall 2006

·  demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidence by outstanding achievement in an activity in school, the community or the workplace

·  be recommended by an unrelated adult who can attest to the student’s achievements

High School Scholarship Program (National)

·  Be a graduating high school senior

·  Be of Hispanic heritage

·  Be a U.S. Citizen or a legal permanent resident with permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)

·  Be enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program at a U.S. accredited college or university in the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S., Virgin Islands, or Guam for the upcoming academic year (enrollment is verified in the Fall)

·  Have a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale (or the equivalent)

·  Must apply for federal financial aid

Texas A&M University -College Station Scholarships

· Each award provides up to $2,000 per year for up to four years. The foundation is seeking funding and accepting applications for scholarships for fall 2007. The FEA is open to entering freshmen, currently-enrolled students at TAMU-College Station, and transfer students from under-represented groups, including minorities and students from economically or educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. Recipients must attend Texas A&M in College Station and must be legal residents of the United States. Students' academic qualifications, extracurricular activities and financial need are considered in selection.h

Asthma and Immunology Award of Excellence Scholarship
 · All high school seniors with documented asthma who will graduate in 2007 and who have achieved excellence in a wide variety of areas including academics, extra curricular activities and community service are eligible. In addition, students must also be United States or Canadian citizens. Children of AAAAI members, employees and contractors are not eligible to participate. Only applications in English will be accepted.

All-Ink Scholarship

·  qualified students who are enrolled or planning to participate in an accredited college or university program during the Spring 2006 or Fall 2006 term or full-year 2006-2007 school year

·  In addition, students applying are required to write a 50 to 200 word essay on who has had the greatest impact on your life, and a 50 to 200 word essay on what you hope to achieve in your personal and professional life after completing college. You can complete your application on-line.

Frank O'Neill Memorial Scholarship

· The 2006 Frank O' Neill Memorial Scholarship is open to anyone attending a university, college, trade school, technical institute, vocational training or other post-secondary education program in the 2006-2007 or 2007-2008 academic year. In addition, eligible students may not have already been receiving or awarded a full-tuition scholarship or waiver from another source. This means that you can not apply if you already have 100% of your school paid for.
